PANAMA BUSINESS #2. Obtain business license for $400. Do get this business license, you'll need to sign the lease for the office first. The lease contract and the business address is necessary to apply for the business license.

PANAMA BUSINESS #3. Sign the lease. Rent space is measured in square meters. The cost of the lease is measured in cost per square meter per month. A small office of 50 square meters may cost you $500 to $800. You find an office as small as 35 square meters and as large as you would like. Lease durations are typically one year. PANAMA BUSINESS #4. Provide a copy of the articles of incorporation, business license and the lease to the telephone company (ex: Cable & Wireless) to open the telephone account. If you have a power of attorney from legal counsel who formed the corporation, include that too.

To obtain a valid telephone line in Panama, you must either provide a Panamanian guarantor or provide a $500 deposit.

PANAMA BUSINESS #5. Hire your employee. This costs about $400 to $600 per month.

PANAMA BUSINESS #6. Internet access is procured from the telephone company after you have the telephone line. Service fees is based upon your preferred speed. Dial up speeds up to broadband is available from $30 to $400 per month, respectively.

ABSENTEE OWNER BUSINESSES BEWARE

Stay on top of things. You must supervise your staff in Panama.
Test everything first, and then dive in.
